How do I make money online? Part 4 - Webanswers and AdSense
By szts77
Hello again to all of you who keep up with my hubs on making money online! Ever since I began reading around ways to earn money online, I kept find question after question after question on how to make money online fast 'n' easy. Honestly? You can't. There is no possible way to make money quickly and without much effort, especially online, unless you're going to go into something illegal, which I personally wouldn't recommend.
However, here is an idea for all of you lazy wannabe millionaires out there.
Webanswers is a website where anyone can ask a question and registered "experts" will be able to answer it for them, similar to Yahoo! Answers and the like. However, there is one big difference. On Webanswers, those who ask questions get paid and those who answer the questions get paid even more.
So, you said you wanted some easy cash? Keep on reading!
I'm sure you all know what Google AdSense is and how people earn money through it. If you don't, it's simple - you post content on your website or a website working with AdSense (e.g. Hubpages or Webanswers) and Google posts ads near your content, and every time an ad gets clicked, you get money for it!
With Webanswers, things work even simpler. You post questions, or answer questions, and next to those questions Google will have posted ads. The revenue from those ads will either be shared between all the experts who have answered the question, or will be given to the expert whose answer was awarded as the best answer to the question.
Starting up.
It is easy to register in Webanswers, but not so easy to register in Google AdSense if you haven't yet got an account (Hubbers shouldn't have this issue :)). Google likes to know you are using your account wisely and publishing the right content and getting the right, serious amount of traffic. Therefore, what I would recommend is to first of all to create a simple blog. Nothing big. Just a blog in Blogger (Blogger is owned by Google, meaning that Google will be most likely to approve your account). Write a few blog posts on something useless, but make it sound like you want to have this blog and you want it to do well. Then, you can apply for AdSense.
After that, feel free to ask and answer as many questions as you can! Your revenue will depend on your activity on the website, the quality and length of your answers, and the amount of your answers that are awarded as best answers.

What you do and what you earn.
As long as you follow the rules at WebAnswers - never copy and only use original content, etc. - you will be rewarded for your efforts, most definitely.
What you want most of all is for your answer to be awarded as the best answer to that question, because if that happens, you will be the one getting most of the revenue for the advertisements displayed. However, don't expect to get lots of your answers awarded, as actually, some people don't even have the slightest intention of awarding any best answers.
So what happens then? Well, what happens is that the revenue that WebAnswers gets from the ads displayed near the question will be rotated amongst the answerers of the question and the asker himself. And, most importantly, the better quality your answer is, the more likely you are to get more cash out of this.
Another factor is how active you are on the website. Do you know who earns the most every day on WebAnswers? It's the people who are displayed as the most active users every day, those who answer at least 40 questions a day. The more active you are, answering questions, asking questions, commenting on awarded questions, the more money you are likely to receive.
Finally, like in most revenue-sharing websites, you also have the wonderful option of referring your friends and other people to sign up to the website, and you can earn... I think... 10% of their impressions and clicks. Isn't that wonderful? But you must remember that it isn't this easy to get a person to become dedicated to answering lots of questions per day on a random website, so you're very likely to not get very much from them.
P.S.
I recently found another website, which maybe doesn't look as professional and therefore as effective, but I think it's actually pretty useful - a similar website where you answer and ask questions.
The asker and answerer get 10% of the revenue obtained from the ads near the question, whilst the best answer gets all 70%. The other difference is the fact that this website doesn't do referrals.
Enjoy!

Thank you very much. :)
I must say I didn't expect WebAnswers to be so good, but yes, my AdSense revenue has been going up quite quickly since I started on the website.
I think it generally takes some time and effort for the person to realize that they need to keep on answering and asking questions, as many as possible, to earn money from the site. What they tend to do is say, "Oh, I'm just going to test it." So they answer a few questions and expect money to start coming in straight away, which obviously doesn't happen.
I have about 1500 answers there and my impressions nose dives when I take a day off. I must say activity is more than important. I'm at such a point that my impressions are less than when I had 500-700 answers. I was really active that time and was answering about 25 questions - now its like 10-15 questions per day.

I'm a loyal follower of your make money online articles and have found them really useful - esp. the hubs about Fiverr and Etsy.
Now WebAnswers is something I like very much... I adore it in fact. I made my first $100 through WebAnswers itself and I'm somewhat active there, and pleased!
I agree that we cannot make the person be active there. I have 9 of my referrals inactive and they return once in three-four months to give an answer. May be they need extra explanation and more useful articles showing potential of WebAnswers. Hope your hub explains them all. Keep up the good work with your hubs,...!!
